Wedding Photography for me is about capturing the emotions, the crucial tear drops, laughing children, yawning grandparents, the sparkles in the eyes.
Foremost I am a portrait photographer and love sneaking around in search of good light and some faces that are not always planned but also very important, like this teenage fairy who shied away to the garden but we had a great fun taking pictures wearing this stunning floral headband that she made herself!

I am very lucky because it happened that on a very overcast, late September day I managed to get a few hours of sunshine bringing with it a very summery atmosphere. The sun was shining on this happy face of the bride and brought out the wonderful coloours of the flowers in  Beaufield Mews ...What a great day for a wedding ceremony!

It was dark already and I was setting up my tripod for a shot featuring sparklers... All of a sudden the lights came on in this little pergola - which looked quite dull during the day - revealing its true beauty ... So I asked the newly weds to take a seat and relax for a moment just after their speeches. I think this is a very beautiful, intimate moment captured when no one is looking!

Family portrait, baby portrait Dublin

The summer has been busy photographing families around Dublin and nationwide. Here beautiful baby R. with her parents in their garden.
Beautiful wedding portrait photography and wedding photojournalism

A simple embrace of a couple who'd just got married. Day light wedding portrait on a busy street of Dublin.  Captured just after the wedding ceremony and in front the venue doors.
Following one of my favorite photographers: "The magic happens when you, as the photographer, tap into the human experience that we can all relate to, whether it is a mother cradling a child, lovers embracing, or a couple kissing...This is where you once again must rely on your inner feelings of when to push the shutter.." I love this shot because it is looks natural and represents pure happines, covered with the veil.

Why not pick your favorite place for the  family photo session? Here the Irish Museum of Modern Art grounds feature as a backdrop. A beautiful sunny day with one little extremely cute chap and his beloved auntie.
Summer time is great for natural light portrait photography, and family photography outdoors, here I had this enormous pleasure to wonder around this beautiful garden with my camera and three lenses in Enfield. Photographed family of six, along with three dogs and three horses, cats, glass houses and lovely hydrangeas. Great day!

Summer this year might not be very merciful... Here in between two storms family photo session in 5 minutes of sunshine! We were so lucky! I have nothing against the grey Irish light which is diffused and flattering, but when you have a photo session planned for a long time and the first thing you see is just the buckets of water pouring down on the planet - that's a different story...
In that case: Band stands, umbrellas, and thick woods...the worst case scenario is cancellation. But uff...we managed to do everything just fine! Fingers crossed for the next time.:)
Every wedding is special. But it's even prettier with kids around. It gives the wedding pictures gallery a hint of unexpected fun and joy. And it's such a pleasure to photograph the amazement on the kiddies faces!

Photographing motherhood is my passion and I love every bit of my work. But as a mother of two girls it is always and still something new to me when I am being invited to photograph mum and her brand new baby son. Little Arthur in the above image was a patient model. And it was priceless to see bonding between himself and his mum... Another fantastic day at work!

Summer is finally here!
And summer brings endless opportunities for candid family portraits. I have been asked recently to do portraits in stunning Duncannon, Co.Wexford. The whole area is surronded by beaches  and woods, and all this together with the evening light is just a dream for a photographer. And on top of that: Wexford Strawberries ;)
Loved every moment of this photo session.

Milo is only 5 days old but he is very strong minded already. He chose not to like any of my props / baskets and was making lots of noise when placed into any. Mums and dad's hands did the job very well for him, but Mum wanted to have at least one shot done in the basket.
Thankfully I spotted a log basket beside the mantlepiece. It was way too big for Milo but he liked it! And I could finally take a portrait of  the boy yawning at that stage!

It was very dull Saturday morning but the boys brightened it up for me, and their mum and dad! Precious little munchkins.. They were singing, drunk with the sugar rush!

I recently had the great pleasure of meeting petite Madmoiselle C. She and her family love photography - especially black and white - classic and timeless -  the three of them were very elegant and sweet!
This beautiful weather ,sun beams coming trough branches, sun everywhere actually. How lucky I was that day in Marlay park when met lovely Helen and Cillian for their pre-wedding portrait photo session on. And it's just the beginning of March. I really enjoyed the day we spend together and I can't wait to photograph their wedding day soon! I love being part of such great things as photographing your happiness! And therefore I love my job more and more every day.

here more on engagement photography .
This a vol.2 session with Isabel and Wanderley just before heading out to photograph wedding. I did know at that stage that they are about to be engaged shortly. And I wanted to capture this busy morning details of their story. Wanderley nervously preparing and Isabel floating softly around in her PJ's around the house. I guess that would be their story... simple but stunning. If you want to share you love story with me, engagement or wedding day , I am open to your ideas as well.

Isabel is from Brasil. She is visiting my fellow photographer Wanderley Massafelli in Dublin. I just entered their kitchen on a very dull but busy Saturday morning breakfast before heading to do some wedding photography. There was already a friendly hum in the kitchen, smell of freshly brewed coffee and ...a sunshine! Isabel just turned her face to me when I entered the kitchen and the light from the window felt directly on to her face. This face brighten up our morning. Its freshness and beautiful smile. Kindness of a personality. Wanderley and Isabel got engaged recently and Wanderley...I must say it out loud : you are very lucky man, this girl will definitely brighten up your days for a long time to come! You have your own little Brasil, here in Ireland.

This post and the one before is about Helena, who's bored because adults decided to have a lazy Sunday morning. She is playing pick a boo with the table leg and pulling her brothers jumper or she's pinching him occasionally. But it doesn't help. To break the mould of this rainy lazy Sunday...
There is nothing more relaxing than a late and lazy Sunday breakfast with friends. These photographs are part of my project called the day of your life and is about photographing families in their natural environment. I came up with this idea when was looking for some refreshment of traditional form of family photography or studio photography. This idea is to make candid a spontaneous diary of a family's day.

Today I wanted to share some thoughts of my beloved photographer Nan Goldin on why and how she sees children in her photography. This is a text I have found in The Guardian some time ago and found answers to lots of my questions and questions that I am being asked by other people and my clients. Nan Goldin is well know american artist/photographer. She has never admitted that photography is an art to her though her work is recognized widely. She is known for her honest style in documenting life in New York in mid 80. Her work is touching very important subjects including: motherhood, sexuality, social matters and finally the magical world of children and their sensitivity.

I don't photograph adults so much any more. I don't have a child and, psychologically, my focus on them is a lot about me wishing that I did. But I am a godmother to friends' children around the world – in Berlin, New York, Sweden and Italy. I don't remember much ever feeling like a child, so maybe photographing them triggers memories. They are wild and magical, as if from another planet. And they haven't been socially conditioned yet, so they can scream and express how they feel publicly. Sometimes I envy them. When I am in a group of people, the children and I find each other's eyes, and end up laughing at the same, unspoken thing.
I've been taking pictures of children since the early 1980s, and it's become increasingly important to me. I see a continuum in the children of my friends, some of whom have died. It's about hoping that my friends will bring up a new species of people.
Her work can be seen here:

I have met this lovely couple for an engagement portrait photo shoot few weeks ago and must admit it was a real treat.  Although It was the beginning of January  we've had lots of sun. I have asked them where they 've met as I am nosy and like to know "things" but also if possible love to go back to important places in peoples lives. I was amazed with their story and because we spend few first moments in Trinity College (Dublin) Gardens I spotted this ribboned tree that was just standing there colourful in the middle of the winter and I thought perfect spot for my couple- so much of similarity.:)  I can't wait to photograph your special day guys! It's going to be soo beautiful.

ps. I do engagement photos for every couple that I have pleasure to do Wedding Day with ...please contact me to book a beautiful photo shoot in your special place!

I have been writing a bit on newborn, baby, family portrait re; very important thing preparation for the shot.
Here is the tip: No matter how big you think you are prepare clothes that will show your curves. That is one thing I always tell my mums to be. Few pairs of bra in different colours. We are going to expose belly and naturally some part of the upper belly where the bra is in focus as well. Try colours that match your eyes.  Good pair of comfy Leggins are inevitable. For changing position and maybe a relaxed walk to the beach to take some photos there.. In my photographs I use a lot of lot o colour. But always ask mums to prepare clothes that are plain. Not to stripy or squery..(is that even a word). I give plenty of advice anyway Before the photo session. so don't worry. it's about you in that special moments not only the almighty BUMP.:)

I have seen a lot of joy photographing newborn babies and their families. I honestly have to say I have a privilege witnessing all this. But I have also seen parents overwhelmed by this "joy":) Well my dear fellow mums it all takes time..I suppose. We all learn and we all have been there.. I just need to say it out loud please don't feel uncomfortable because you invited this strange polish lady with the big camera. I am part of it  I am a mum and I am documenting something very important. I am open to your ideas. You have every right to get tired and nervous..countless .sleepless nights and where is my space? But that's all a part of motherhood and I try to document a very look and smile that comes with it. How proud you really are even though exhausted with two other children and a toddler that want to be with you all the same..I like the way the mum looks at dad here..and I think it's worth photographing this as a proof of love. Everything that family should be. Not only on the photographs of course.

This post is about expecting (maternity photos) and about what's next. I have been asked to do joined photo sessions of expecting parents and then the baby on arrival, ok shortly after.  I love this type of work because it's a great chance to work with the same people twice and it's not happening that often in my profession. And on top of that I photograph the most exciting and happy moment in their lives. The beginning. Spring in life.  What a joy! This beautiful tattooed lady has just gave birth to her baby son and I am going to be there soon to capture those first moments of his life! Every time I try to encourage to be both parents and sibling on the newborn photos as I know they will be grateful later on! To have that memories and themselves as a part of it. I will soon post the photos form our recent work.
